AlloSorb is a Sterile-R allograft manufactured by an AATB-accredited facility. What does this mean to you? More confidence in the product. More confidence in the outcome. AlloSorb is cleaned and disinfected using a proprietary process involving chemical and antibiotic exposure – and then terminally irradiated to reduce the potential of disease transmission. This process, along with rigorous donor screening, has been designed and validated to increase the safety of AlloSorb. |
AlloSorb Sterilization Process
STEP 1. SCREEN. The screening process facilitates the control of bioburden on the tissues prior to processing. This thorough donor screening surpasses FDA and AATB requirements. STEP 2. TEST. Donor blood is tested using sophisticated Nucleic Acid Testing (NAT) technology. The tissues are cultured to ensure that no unacceptable microbial contamination is present. STEP 3. PROCESS. Tissues are processed in controlled, Class 100 rooms. A Class 100 room contains no more than 100 particles of a size 0.5-micron or larger per cubic foot of air. (For comparison, consider that a human hair is ~75-100 microns in diameter.) STEP 4. CLEAN AND STERILIZE. Tissues are cleaned and disinfected using chemical reagents and antibiotics. Then, using gamma irradiation, they are terminally sterilized to produce a sterile product with a sterility assurance level (SAL) of 10-6 NOTES: • Processing does not affect either the osteoinductivity or osteoconductivity of AlloSorb. |
